 Looking for a new hi-hat stand
I just broke my Iron Cobra top of the line two leg hi hat stand a couple of nights ago at band practice and now I'm looking to find a new one. I have been looking around everywhere for heavy duty two leg stands, and I think I have found some that I like. The only problem is that every stupid music store around town doesn't have them set up on the floor to try out, so I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions of a nice 2 leg hi hat stand that will hold up?

Get a DW 5500TH Hi hat stand. Sturdiest on the market. I've used the same one for over twelve years. The only thing I;ve ever replaced is the clutch.

I have a Pearl power shifter hi-hat stand with a revolving base. That thing is just awesome. I would recommend it to anyone! Only $100 when I got it years ago.

I have Tama Lever Glide Hi hat stand and it's holding up fine!

I'm really curious as to how you broke that stand. I was looking at getting the iron cobra. Could you tell me how you broke it?

I have had the stand for about three years now and it has been holding up fine. All of a sudden one day at band practice the center rod started to spin which caused my drop clutch to spin. I kept trying to tighten it from the top, because thats what I could do with my old pearl one, but this stand doesnt work that way. When I twisted the top, the chain at the bottom became twisted and eventually just snapped. Im sure I could just buy a new chain link and tighten the rod the correct way, but this gives me a chance to buy some new gear and maybe use the Tama as a back up stand. I definitely would say that this is one of the best hi hat stands on the market, and I woulnd't discourage anyone from buying it. Mine broke from my misuse and neglect, so I would say go for it if you want to buy one.
