Post good long lasting triggers?!?
i just bought an Alesis DM5 and im looking for input on what trigger to get. i only need one since im only triggering my bass drum (for now) so i was just wondering what kind of experience everyone has had with different triggers and which you think performs best and will last.

most pros will recommend the Roland or Ddrum models.

I've been using the Rolands (various models) for a couple years now; I like!

I know you're probably not in the mood for an Axis recommendation, but have you considered their E-kit?
Then you don't even need an external trigger mounted on your drum, it's already on your pedal.

yeah ive heard of the e-kit and im not too keen on not hitting a bass drum. id like a triger thats touching the bass head.

If the e-kits setup CORRECTLY you will still hit the head of the kick. A lot of guys cheat and set them to trigger even if the beater doesn't touch the head.

The benefit to the e-kit over head mounted triggers is you won't get false triggers due to heavy guitars or stage vibrations. And you can certainly set the e-triggers up so you still make head contact.
