SLAYER Drummer Says 'Everybody Should Shut Up' About SHADOWS FALL's BITTNER

Cam Lindsay of Canada's Exclaim! magazine recently conducted an interview with SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo. A few excerpts from the chat follow:

Exclaim!: What are your current fixations?

Lombardo: "Right now it's music and it's been that for a while: rhythm and music, immersing myself in as much good stuff as possible. There's a Bulgarian band TARAF DE HAIDOUKS and their album 'Band of Gypsies'. Their music is fast and resembles the intensity and the speed of SLAYER. It's a whole different genre, gypsy folk music. But let me tell you, it's some of the fastest stuff that I've ever heard in my life. I'm just intrigued by these guys who enjoy playing fast like we do, so there's a common thread there. It gives you a good rush."

Jason Bittner is a Fucking asshole.............got to drink some beers with the whole band bout 2 years ago.........everyone was super cool except bittner.......Arrogant is an understatement for this d bag.....great drummer yes.....cool person hell no!

yea I wish kevin talley took over when they had the chance. I mean lombardo is good but "come on!" lol

im not a big fan of slayer, their music is annoying. very great musicianship but eh, just not my style

Slayer was the first metal band I got into, and I was obsessed with them and Dave's playing for about a year, haha. I think that they're amazing. Not the best musicians in the world, but they're damn good. Dave just has that intensity when he plays, like someone lit a fire under his ass.

And on top of that, in his videos, he just seems like a cool guy. Real down to earth, not an asshole or anything. Doesn't let it get to his head.
