 Meinl Cymbal Users!!!
Im doin a complete change of all my cymbals...
ive been using sabian Vaults and ive loved them since day one...
unfortunately im an extremly heavy hitter and aggressive on my drums during live shows...this has made me realize that i need some heavier cymbals...
ive always love Meinl Cymbals...and i need some suggestions from those who use them what would be the best path to go down...

Check out the Soundcaster and MB10 series. I'm planning on replacing all my cymbals with those.

From what I understand, thinner cymbals are what you want.

Correct, thinner cymbals will work better. Thicker cymbals have less "give" to them, and therefore nowhere to let out the vibrations that begin when you strike them. Thinner cymbals will give more and let you beat the tar out of them. Don't tighten them down on the stands, let them swing freely, and also examine your technique to make sure you are striking your cymbals properly.

I own a 21" Mb10 Medium Ride and I love it. It has a good clean ping, larger than normal bell (but not as large as the Z. custom Mega Bell Ride) and is also great for crash riding.

While thinner cymbals, do have more "give to them", heavier cymbals are better for louder volumes, but heavy or extra heavy crashes probably aren't the way to go, unless you leave them REALLY loose. I have an 18" Sabian Rock Crash, which is Medium-Heavy, and I'm a hard hitter, and it works perfectly for me. But for Meinl, you should probably check out Soundcasters, MB10 and MB20 for crashes and rides, probably MB20 Powerful Soundwaves for hats, and Byzance Traditional or Brilliant for splashes and chinas. But thats just me.

I am switching to the Byzance series myself. They have a great shimmer to them and quit a bit of character. I never used the Mb20's, but I also herd that they are aggressive, more so than the Byzance line. I'm looking into getting some Mb20 hats too.

I have a 20" MB heavy crash. It's a great cymbal.

All my cymbals are MEINL
Can't go wrong with Amun (Mb8) Crashes
Byzance Hihats are the shizz and altho they aint Pro Cymbals, Classics Chinas are really nice too.
I use the Mb20 Pure Metal Ride Cymabl and that says it all

NO drummer should ever not be able to use the cymbals they want beause they "dont hold up" I'v been using my a customs for a long time and havent broken one in a long time. (well besides that 8" splash that was too tight) over a year.
Its all about technique
