Post Alesis DM5/Simmons Pad Compatibility
Okay people....I need some help. I can't find any good info on the Web....and since we have a lot of knowledgeable talent here.....I figured this was the best place to ask my question. I have an Alesis DM5 unit.....great unit....never had any issues. I've used it with my DDrum triggers...and never had any problems with them at all. My question is this. Would the older Simmons pads....or Tama Techstar pads work with the DM5? In theory.....I'm thinking they should...but I just don't know. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I already have some Alesis pads that I picked up on Ebay at a great price......haven't used them yet......and they're smaller than what I'd like. So I'm really interested in knowing if the Simmons or TechStars would work with my module.
Thanks!
K.O.

No problem, the Simmons and Techstar pads will work with the DM5. The Techstar pads are slightly hotter output than the simmons, and less prone to double triggering.

Thanks for the reply Zen. I threw caution to the wind and bought the Techstar pads anyway...assuming that they would work. They work great......no problems double triggering.....and as you stated....very good sensitivity.
Thank you!
