 another good new cymbal day
Got me a Sabian AAX 16" Bright Crash today. It's used, but in great shape. It sure is nice to start replacing stock garbage cymbals.

$89.99
No keyholes, no dents, or dings. Bright finish. Brought it home, put some Brasso on it, good as new.

Wow that's awesome for 90 dollars. I'm thinking about just buying used cymbals from now on. I'm not a heavy hitter so I'm sure it won't matter. What are keyholes?

Buying used cymbals that are in good shape makes good sense to me. Sure, you can hit the cymbal in the music store, but it may sound different when you get it home and then you've spent $200 on a cymbal you don't like. You just have to be patient when hitting the Music Go Rounds and places that sell used music gear to get what you want.
Keyholes are when the hole at the top of the cymbal becomes bored out from hanging on the cymbal stand for a prolonged period of time.

That's a keyhole. I have a nice keyhole in my ride, I kinda take pride in that! My crashes don't usually last long enough to keyhole.

I don't use it that often. Mainly on the initial cleaning when I first buy a used cymbal.
