I used to. Slippery sticks = dry skin = blisters eventually. Go find a girl in the audience with some hand lotion. Girls usually have that stuff. That's why chicks rule.

never! the feel of unfinished sanded wood gives me the heebie jeebies. I can't stand the feel of it. feeling roughly sanded wood is the equivalent of someone screeching their fingers on a blackboard for me.

i've sanded, and occasionally cut a deeper couple of cuts using a knife low down on the stick so if it is slipping i have one place i know will grip (i wouldnt reccomend that though, can rip your hands up)

If you don't want to sand - cut - etc. I would recommend getting a can of drumstick wax. It just looks like a bar of soap and you rub it onto your sticks and it leaves them sticky and very "grippy"

I can't stand something sticky on my sticks. The real way to not lose your sticks is to get your grip correct. Such a simple operation as well. I can fix you in 2 minutes. I think that will be my first video.

I haven't dropped a stick in years. It's interesting: you wouldn't think it, but it's mainly when people grip too hard that they end up having problems with dropping sticks.
