 back-up pedal suggestions?
Hey everybody,
I have a Tama twin pedal (no cobras, but the cheaper ones) that I don't use at all, and I've been wanting to maybe trade them in for a decent back-up single pedal. The pedal I use now is an Iron Cobra with the power glide. I absolutely love that thing, but I'd like to have a different pedal just in case I need one.
I've heard lots of good things about DW5000's, or Pearl Eliminators, but I'm not sure I can test all those out before buying them.
What do you think? Any comment is welcome:)

I obvioulsy like axis. I'm not a big fan of the feel or iron cobras or eliminators. But dw9000 pedals feel great. its the only chain drive pedal hat gives me the response i need. you could also look into the pacific B.O.A. pedals. Or those pedals timekeeper uses with the magnets

Those are cool ^...
But I think you should try the PDP BOA pedals, they're silent, and incredibly adjustable. Not to mention they look pretty classy...

Those BOA pedals are very odd feeling. The springyness comes from a totally different area of play. Quite nice, though I couldn't decide if I liked them in the shop.

An axis pedal would be a good back up one but the dw 5000s are not that good i think they start to lose their
smoothness after a few years of playing on it.

Ludwig Speed King. I think I'm the only one who uses them regularly on this forum. It's low-tech compared to most pedals but it's built like a tank and I like the direct-linkage. I've used the same pedal for 25 years with no problems whatsoever. I recently decided to retire my old pedal (that I've been using since I was 10) and bought a new Speed King. The new one is completely quiet and IMO smoother, but for the most part it's identical to the old one.

i absolutely love the BOA pedals.
most negative things i've read about them come from people that played them in a shop or a store without experimenting with all the settings. once you get this pedal set up, you'll never want to play anything else.
best pedal i've ever owned... and i've owned nearly all of them...
