 Bass drum head help!
Ive been using a remo powerstroke 3 bass drum head, and i wanted to change up the head. Ive heard great things about evans's emad but i prefer sticking with remo since my whole set is remo headed. what about remo's powersonic? thats what im intersted in getting. any advice? please!

whats up man, i use remo coated emporers on my toms, coated controlled sound with reverse dot on the snare and evans EQ3 on my bass drum batter. go with the EQ3 man, incredible punch and awsome tone. but the remo powerstroke is pretty good.

I agree. The EQ3 is probably the closest thing to an Emad you'll find from Remo. Pretty much everyone who's used a Powersonic hates the tone.

man i have been gigging with PS3's for years now.
they are super versitile and wiht the right beater, patch, tuning you can achieve great sound.
it really doesnt get a whole lot better.
if you stick with remo
some seem to like the CS on bassdrums. lots of punch

I know what you mean about sticking with what kind of heads you have all around. I'm a Evans kind of guy, but my drumset came with a powerstroke 3, and if I didnt have Evans on the toms I would of never switched my bass head. Powerstroke 3 was awesome. why switch?

They might be alright if you mic 'em up all the time. to me they where extremly dry even without the eds system. I would advise you to not put ANYTHING IN THE DRUM.

i love remo, remo is great. i use remo for everything except the bass drum. ive tried many remo bass heads and for some reason never really liked them that much. i got an aquarian head, to be honest with you im not sure what kind it is but it sounds great.
