There is no such cymbal as "the best cymbal" in my opinion.

I hate the aspect of American consumerism that says there has to be a "best" for everything.
This is an art form and as such the "best" products are the ones that work for you and your musical vision.

Never heard of Zijlan...is that another long lost relative of Kerope or Avedis?

It's all one's opinion. I have heard some people say that a cymbal, which in my opinion sounds like crap, is the best thing they have ever heard. I have my favorites as does everyone else....but that is all that it is...preference. Peace on ya!

ok what i meant was the best sounding in like a rock/type setting.........i have some ZBT's and ZXT's that sound fine....but id like to know what cymbals sound just as good, only ring slitghlty longer and with a fuller sound! no part of that was consumerism......simple opinionated question

there is no best cymbal, its all preference and what you think sounds best for what music you play. Experiment.

My favorite out of my kit is a 6" A Custom spash. I like to play it choked and it sits a quick wrist flick from my hi-hat.

A Custom Crash's are my favorite. Do yourself a favor if you're playing ZBT, ZXT or ZHT series, and go to the music store and crash an A Custom...its like a burst of brilliant sound, whereas those Z's are like trash can lids by comparison. Even many Avedis (A) series Zildjian's sound like trash can lids by comparison in my opinion.

Well put. That being said, I'm looking to buy some cymbals, what would you suggest? :p

There really is no "best" cymbal. It all depends on the person playing it. There are people who make the Sabian B8 series sound like the songs of a siren.
