Aquarian Super kick II has a muffler ring. That's all I need.

Just NO Overtone batter and resonant heads. Nothing in between.

I use a tight EMAD with the littler muffling ring and a bass pillow inside the kick for an ultra big and powerful boom.
I find this most effective in a wide variety in music...tho i have not tryed it without the pillow so mebbe i give it a shot tomorrow

i used to have a towel in there, but since i got the powersonic it's just the ported reso head and the batter head, and it sounds better than ever.

i use a aquarian super kick I. tuned kinda medium loose. not floppy or anything. the front head is pretty loose, tightened until the wrinkles are all gone. i have a hole in the front, and just a twin sized sheet just to take away a tiny bit of overtone. i like my bass heavy. i like it when it hurts the hearts of the people in the crowd.

I have some Mexican looking quilt rolled up laying diagonally so it barely touches either head. I need new heads on that beast though and if I pick the right ones I'm banking that I won't need anything else to muffle it.
