 BOOOOOM!!! you just hear that?
because I just hit the wall pretty bad.
yep, I just hit my 3rd wall in my drumming career. This one is a pretty odd wall. its only my feet this time. My hands are at their peak now that I got my practice pad and I am practicing EVERYWHERE I go. and now I go on my kit and try and do some BD tech and my feet are absolute SHITTT.
Any tips for breaking down this wall?
rudiments? going slow?
owwwwwwwwwwwww

Rudiments for sure. Get a metronome and work through all of them at a slow tempo and gradually increase it over time. It can be a slow process trying to get them solid but the payoff is definatly worth it.

I tell ya I have good and bad days with the feet thing. My right foot is no prob and my left on the hh is killer. But when I make them a team and try to rip some Five Finger Death Punch some times I smile other times "not so much". The advice portion of the post says, Feet are just like hands. Gotta not give up. Even if you are old like me. Rudiments. Hell single stroke roll is the first rudiment. There is no short cut other than being a pure natural.

that's a great line
I'm in the same boat as you all, my hands are my strong point. My feet suck. But I'm just gonna keep practicing and going at it. It's not like I can do anything else, drumming is too much fun.

When you develop in an area such as you have with your hands, the awareness of deficiency with your feet becomes apparent.
The good news is that your hands can teach your feet. Do call/response drills between the two halves. Go one time through a phrase on the top then repeat on the bottom half. Then go two and two. Try one on the hands then three on the feet.
That'll get you pointed in a direction.

Good call Bill! that was how I was tought Jazz comping figures. Play with the hands then the feet.
I feel your pain, my feet are definitely my weakest area!

+1 Also remember that your feet are the foundation of your playing, much like your heartbeat.

Your inner ears should be the center of your world. By inner ears I mean "internal hearing". If you can hear it, you can play it.
