This improved V-Pad for the snare drum features an expanded 10-inch rim for more comfortable and quiet rim-shots, as well as separate head and rim-triggering for authentic performance.
I own a TD-3SW set, which comes with this snare pad. My first upgrade to the set was getting rid of this pad (in favor of a PD-125). Its diameter really doesn’t do justice to its use (or its acoustic counterpart for that matter). Sensors are placed close to the bottom edge, and that makes for a noticeably different sound when hitting top or bottom.
