 Cheap drum sticks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm tired of using cheap drum sticks from the pawn shop down the street with wood that cracks right away. My friend told me about wedgie powerband drumsticks... he says they are lightweight and made from hickory wood. they also have powerbands which improve your grip and control vibrations in the wood. what do you think of these sticks? has anyone ever played with them? i want some feedback before i decide to purchase them

Err, why not go to a music store or online and order some not crappy sticks like Pro Mark, Vic Firth, or Vater?
And I've never head of that brand.

If you're looking to not spend too much money but get decent quality sticks, look for seconds. These are the ones that the manufacturers toss because they feel they aren't up to their standards. Check out this Ebay seller:
http://stores.ebay.com/JDS-Promotions-Super-Store_Percussion_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ18QQftidZ2QQtZkm
Really nice prices for what you get. May be worth looking in to. Good luck.

I get all my sticks from that guy. Some I sand and paint or stain,Some I just play with as is. They're always as good as regular vic firths (except for an occasional stick that has a flaw in the grain) They are backstock, but most of them are rejected for silly shit such a dark spots in the wood, a flaw in the clearcoat(which you have anyway as sson as you hit a cymbal) etc.

Yeah, those prices are just killer. I mean, with shipping, it comes to less than $3.50/pair. Can't beat that if you don't have an endorsement deal.

Clever, but I think I smell spam.

 Thank you
Thanks to everyone for replying with suggestions I really appreciate it! Especially xdoseonex thanks! I will definately check out the ebay link... sounds like I could get a lot of really good prices. Since the manufactureres toss them, are the defective sticks though?
and to 40th... i've heard of trueline sticks... isnt the "powerball" supposed to increase grip? does it get in the way of your playing? i cant imagine playing with sticks that have a big bump in them

Theyre rejected for minor flaws such as dark spots in the wood or flaws in the clearcoat

I agree, it's a SPAM post. Do we really need another drumstick company that is trying to reinvent the wheel with the whole "powerband" bullshit. If you want inexpensive good quality sticks, go with factory seconds. I've used the Regal Tip "JoJo" line of seconds and have been happy with them for $2.99/pair. The current market will put all the Wedgie-type brands out of business in short order anyway.

Who the hell goes to a pawn shop for sticks???? Who sells used sticks to a pawn shop???? This thread doesn't make much sense...I never heard of powderbrands...
UPDATE: I just googled the sticks and found out they are endorsed by Toby Keith, reason enough for me to never use them.

Yea, I always hide my quality sticks when company is over. When I firsst started playing, I only bought the cheap ones...then my girlfriend bought me a pair of Hickory Pro Marks, after that I was hooked.
