i've been looking recently at getting some custom acrylic drums either by "pork pie" or "fvf" the price of both are ok really i was justwondering do acrylic drums have any nasty surprises! such as are they hard to tune! also, how do they sound in comparison to wood drums!. Thanks!

I have a custom SJC Acrylic kit and I love it. it's easier to tune than wood drums and they're loud. Usually the guys in my band couldn't hear my toms on stage, but when I got those, they had no trouble hearing them.

Are acrylics really better then wood? I like the look but if they're better too i might try to get some.
