The kit and cymbals i just bought has been sitting in cases in a friend's room for about two year so it's time to clean um up. what's some good cymbal polish and do i need any like shell polish or anything? the shells look pretty good, but there are a few dirty spots. thank a lot.

Trick makes a drum polish. If your drums are pretty dirty they'll probably make a noticeable difference.

For cymbals, use the cymbal companies matching polish, they usually specially formulate them for their cymbals.

for cymbals, for years i've used nothing but cleanser and water to get the gunk and fingerprints off. a lot of people also recommend a similar product known as "Barkeepers Friend". then to keep them shined up i use Pledge.

Pledge also for the drums and hardware as well. that is as long as your kit doesn't look like it just came back from the Civil War.
