One of Rock's finest and a legend. He sure taught Taylor Hawkins a thing or two and look at them now!

I like Dave for his no nonsense approach to drumming. He plays solid grooves and tasty fills.
Plus he's a helluva nice guy apparently! That's always a bonus.

Dave is cool, plus he's an all around musician.

He's one of my biggest influences and one of my musical heroes.

awesome drummer.
i remember at the peak of nirvana's success, he was on the cover of modern drummer and in the following issue, there was 1/2 a page dedicated to people that were pissed off MD put a 'hack' on the cover of their magazine.
i'll never forget his equipment list. for sticks it just said "big"
awesome.
his drumming on qotsa's "songs for the deaf" is phenomenal.

I can't really put into words how I feel about Mr. Grohl. Lets just say "it's times like these" I wish I were a woman.
No, just messin' - not even bringing up his all-around ability, singing, songwriting, guitar, drums, yada yada yada, he could probably act for a living. Nirvana and Foo Fighters always had some of the best videos where the band members (ok, Chris N. aside) actually look like they aren't really "acting" as if it comes natural.
Supremely talented individual and I will confer on the QOTSA stuff, you can feel the difference in the songs he isn't playing on by them.

yeah. actually, he did play the drums.
he played all the drums on 'colour and the shape' with the exception of 'doll' (the first song) and i think the intro of 'up in arms' (the slower part).
will goldsmith (of sunny day real estate & the fire theft - awesome drummer) played drums on that. despite being in the band for a few years, that's actually, as far as i know, the only song he ever played drums on in the studio.
he actually quit the band because he didn't like dave telling him how and what to play.

I actually heard that he basically writes the drum parts for Taylor, and then T can elaborate.
