I don't know if a lot of you are familiar with the Minneapolis drummer, Dave King, but I hope you will be enlightned soon. I believe he is truly reinventing how to play the drums. You can hear his work in a few different groups. Check out Happy Apple at www.happyapplemusic.com They're into some crazy fusion/rock/jazz....it's quite happening. You can check out The Bad Plus at www.thebadplus.com This group is all about free jazz as well but they have slightly less insanity than happy apple. You can also hear Dave in a group called Halloween Alaska. H-A can be found at www.halloweenalaska.com and they are more of a chilled out ambient project with acoustic/electronic drumming. I'm a big fan of this guy and I would like to share his uncanny abilities with some of you. Reply and tell me what you think...
