its a 70s ludwig acrolite 5x14 aluminum snare. if you dont want it talk to me and ill see if i can take it off your hands because ive been wanting one for a while. you got a killer deal on that snare and if the throwoff and dampener work well then it even better. those snares are one of teh most recorded in history and i can tell you that they are loud beasts. tune that thing well and it will sing.

i haven't tried putting a magnet to it but i think it is aluminum just because of how it looks...but i'm not expert. and yeah the throw off and dampener work. i actually really liked the dampener i haven't had one of those on a snare since my old cb snare which has been gone for a long while.
but anyways thanks for the quick replies. i'll have to try it out with my whole kit next time i go to practice.

DO NOT BUY IT, THEY'RE RIPPING YOU OFF!
That's a terrible deal, trust me.
But buy it and send it to me, i'll send you the money for it.

$18 for an Acrolite - an excellent snare drum and you got a great deal. The Blue and Olive badges were used in 1970s and the 1980s. I looks to have the orignal heads! This was a pretty good find and it looks like it is all there!

Man, what some people have just kicking around their basement or closet.... amazing. One man's trash is another man's treasure. I have a friend who bought a mint Wurlitzer piano (200A?) for 100 bucks because the guy didn't know what he was selling. Good deal man.

Hahaha good work! Just seen a 1960's Acrolite on Ebay in the UK for £90, given the exchange rate that's what, about $180 and the auction hasn't even finished yet!
