Post Evans EC2
I play rock, metal, and all the other louder styles of music.
Would it be better to use Evans EC2 Clear or Coated. I used to have coated pinstripes but I hated their sound.
The EC2 Coateds are aactually frosted so I thought I might give them a try but I wasn't sure.

that was pretty funny.

anyway, I just put on a set of coated heads (remo ambassadors however), and I think coated heads will do the trick for you. I find they give a lot more punch and attack than clear heads.

Gretsch, Wooding, Ludwig, Sabian. random hardware.

Actually, I just remembered that I hated the sound of a coated head on my floor tom. I'd like to have matching, consistent heads so I'll go with clear.

Clear is better and I know because I tried both and I can say that Coated is good for recording and clear is good for live! EC2 rocks harder than Remo!

Have you ever tried Remo's clear penstripes?

I hated Pinstrips dude. They sound like cardboard. I do like emporers and powerstroke 4's for toms.
