evans emad II or aqaurian superkick II
my new set came with a brand new aqaurian superkick II, but i just put an evans EMAD II on my old set and i absolutly love the sound. i love having an extreamly deep punchy sound. any suggestions on which i should put on my new set?

Try both. Buy one this time and the other in a few months.

Are you getting extra money for having one of those two heads? If not, buy a PowerStroke3 and call it a day.

i've never tried the Emad II but i just bought a Superkick II and it's double plyed and snapped on me, but it should be fine if you use the soft side of your beaters and buy a bass drum pad or click pad. Thank SGarrett for that info

No problem.
You can still use the plastic side as long as you have that kick pad on the head. I like the Aquarian ones because they take a serious amount of abuse.

ive used danmar double kick pads, gibraltar click pads, the evans kick pad (don't know what its called), aquarian double kick pad, and remo falam double kick pad.
and they all wore out, and the adhesive got got screwed up on all of them except the aquarian and remo ones.
those two were the only two that i liked, and that you couldn't even tell they had been used after months and months of pounding away. they are both still like new.
i am using aquarian right now, but i could tell no difference between either of em. i would recommend either of those two.

I have also had both the EMAD and SKII and I prefer the SKII. The foam kept falling off of the EMAD and I had to tape it on. The SKII is also cheaper than the EMAD. But, in terms of sound, I think that they are the same. I always throw the Aquarian Kickpad on there and the heads have never broken.

you must have had a bad head because I use a double pedal on my EMAD and Ive never had the foam fall out. Ever.
