Post has anyone ever thought of...
has anyone ever thought of an add on to a cymbal stand, just above the cymbal (u could even apply this to a rim clip on device) that has a pad u hit and then a brush on the end so painlessly you can change from sticks to brushes on the ride and then with the left use a rim shot to lighten things up? cause personally i love the sound or brushes on the ride but its pretty dam difficult to instantly change from sticks to brushes then back again all for a few bars. In my mind the contraption would look like this. and hopefully my skillful diagram makes sense and by the way that unlabeled thing in the middle is the foam pad

ring to attatch cymbal stand > o---(____(-)--=== <brushes

what ur guys 2 cents if, that is IF, i manage to get something like this working... dont just say it wont work cause i know its got some serious, serious flaws but any idea that could stop it from smacking the cymbal when u arent using brushes? perhaps a hinge between the cymbal stand attachment and the pad with a spring pulling it upwards but it clicks in at the bottom and then u have a little release u can hit to click it back up... i dont know... what ur guys suggestions!?

The idea of switching from sticks to brushes has already been sorted. I have a set of these in my stick bag;-

They are wire brush at one end, 5A Stick at the other, all you need to do is flip them and you are ready for action.
