Great, my favorite band!

But I don't understand; Do you need DRUM-tabs?
(Hence the forum you post on... Wink )

Seriously, you should have a look here;

http://www.fretplay.com/tabs/d/deep_purple/highway_star-tab.shtml

http://www.guitaretab.com/d/deep-purple/4943.html

Wether it's what you're after, I don't know.
At least you got something to start with.

But I strongly advice you to listen to the original verson, to get the feel and sound of Ritchie Blackmore also.

Check out "Machine Head" and "Made in Japan" for a start! Very Happy

Good luck! Cool

Drum tabs?!! Shocked

I have seriously never heard of it, but Ian Paice is my absolute favorite drummer!

I think the only way to learn the "Higway Star" drums, sums up to ten things;

1. Listen
2. Listen
3. Listen
4. Listen
5. Listen
6. Practice
7. Practice
8. Practice
9. Practice
10. Practice...

Mabe if you know a (good) drummer who is into Ian Paice/Deep Purple, you should ask him to show you. I regard that the easiest
way to learn the basics.

Second best; Buy a plane-ticket to Norway, and I'll show you! Very Happy

I think Ian Paice's "feel" and "swing" is the most important part of his playing, and it's impossible to write that down on a piece of paper.

Drum tabs? Now, that would be something...

oh ok! cos i've learnt some songs looking at drum tabs (where i can't make out each beat in detail when the song's playing)

yes i'm already doing the listening and practising, just wanted to see if the thing was available

thanks Very Happy

If Ian is yer fav drummer, how could you not have heard HIGHWAY STAR?

Seriously though, it`s from the 1972, MACHINE HEAD album. THat`s the same album that brought us Smoke On The Water.

of course i've heard the song !!!!!! and i'm practising to it too.. but i was just asking if anybody had the exact thing, because just by listening it's hard to make out every kick or every beat perfectly

anyway it's fine now.
