How many people here use toe stops on there pedals?
I've noticed something thats holding me back in the double bass dept. , I have sort of reached a wall , where if I go any faster my feet start to creep up the footboard untill my toes are up against the chain. Just wondering if I should get some stops?

I don't use them on mine, but my feet tend to do the oppisite and move down the pedal not up.

My pedals come with them but I play on the "sweet spot"
I never go there.
Grab a stick at the balance point and hit a pad or a drum.
Then, choke up on the stick and hit a pad or a drum.
Big difference...

I've thought about getting one for my hi-hat pedal. But then I came to the conclusion that my left foot technique had just gone to hell.

I have them on mine but my feet never actually move up that high for them to become useful.

For quick double strokes on a single pedal, I always do a sort of slide up the pedal, making two strokes in one movement, but I don't think I've ever slided all the way up to the stop. So I guess the toe stop is useful just in case.

Don't even know if they're available for my Flying Dragons... but then, they don't have a chain to catch my toes on anyway!

I've got them on my Iron Cobras (they come with them). I'm gonna eventually grab some for the two IC Jr. pedals I use. When I'm wearing shoes, they're real nice. The tip of my shoe sort of "fits" in with them, and it actually feels a bit more comfortable. When I just play in socks, I usually don't use them, but I prefer shoes for playing.

that could hurt your feet, like one time i painted my feet with wierd paint and it hurt like hell about an hour later from walking around- the paint was like adhesive and it was irritating my foot

I don't have that problem cuz i dont use too much double bass pedal but i think if you work just alittle bit getting your feet to stay where you want them and not getting toe stops might allow you to have just that much more freedom. Its cool if you do tho.. no big deal i dont think
