How often do you change your tension springs on your pedals?
I came upon this question and wondered because I don't know the difference between a new or old spring. Does it affect the pedal? I changed it once and that was it because one of the springs was bent.

I've never done that. My oldest pedal has 14 years of use.

When they feel stretched out...which does happen.
Play a new pedal, then play yours, and you'll feel how sloppy a loose spring really is.

Think I replaced one once, when it broke.
I have my pedals loose though, so don't mind a slack spring. Having said that, I do detach the spring when I'm not playing. That's gotta help conserve life in springs?

i dont think the spring ever ages but you have to play with the tension
to get the feel you like.

Trade in your pedal(s) once a year, no worries, no squeaks, no worn springs.
