Post How to improve bass drum sound on Pearl Rhythm Traveler set?
So I have this Pearl Rhythm traveler set that I bought to practice on at my home. Well my band is planning on playing an acoustic set and I thought it would be cool to use this set for the gig. However when I took the muffle heads of and replaced them with the normal drum heads I notice that the bass drum sound needs to be improved. I feel like the sound has too much resonance and also I get a lot of double hits from it bouncing when I'm intending for a single impact. Does anyone have any ideas on how to improve the sound of the bass drum or is that simply what I should expect from a BD this size? There is no port hole on the batter head so I thought it may help improve things if I cut one out myself.
Your thoughts please???
