 I lost my friend today....
I get this call last week from Ernest Lane, Ike Turner's pianist and oldest friend. He was telling me that Ike was feeling real down and Ernest took it upon himself to coordinate all of us over at Ike's house for a little surprise party/jam session intent on gearing Ike up a little and making him feel better. Instead, he surprised us by passing away.
At 11:10 this AM, the world lost a musical legend. I was there when he passed. so if you see the news, look for the big tall galoot in green pants and a black shirt.
I hurt.

My condolences to you. I remember he played around town every once in a while when I lived in San Diego. He was a pioneer who got a bad wrap from Hollywood.

That's sad... We've lost too many the past couple of years.
Be thankful you got to be a part of making music with someone like Ike.... those memories will always remain & carry on the spirit.

I feel sorry for you. I also lost one of my best friends just today, but in a totally different way. I can understand how it feels to lose a friend.
