 I need some new cymbals.
I posted a topic asking if I should get some Ziljian ZXT's and everyone said they sucks and if I was seriouse about druming to get higher line cymbals. Well it just so happens I am seriouse about druming its my life.
So my questions is what sould I get. Im on a farly low bugget so around 500-600 dollars.
The sizes I want are
14" 16" and 18" crash. (14"opptional)
18" china
14" Hi hat
20" Ride (I want one with a realy good bell.
8" Zil Bell. (I already know Im going to get one of these.
I also want them to be durable. Suggestions please.

I always sugest going for A custom! they sound great for many genre's, a ride [size=18]which has a huge bell is the Z custom, so i suggest buying one of them! For good crashes which are relatively cheap go for lower range paste cymbals.

i would say get all avedis zildjian. they are much more durable than A custom.
also the 8 inch zil bells are really quiet. the 6.5 is much louder and cuts better.
just go to your local drums shop (NOT GUITAR CENTER) and check out what they have, mix and match from all different kinds and see what you like. dont listen to people on here for exact cymbals. Find what you like, make you cymbals exactally what you want, not what someone tells you to buy.

I agree with the drummerseftone but I believ tha A custom are to expensive if you wanna buy all that you wrote up to 500 $.
Here is my opinion...I was on a presentation of ZHT zildjian cymbals and thay are low budget, but the fact that zildjian made aht hi-hat in master-sound version is + for these cymbals. I am not sure what kind of music you are playing but if you play rock (or any variation of it) you will be quite satisfied!
My other suggestion is Bosphorus cymbals! I am not sure where are you from, but in my country (Serbia-former yugoslavia) they are prety cheap. For 500 box you can buy all set up from ride,hi-hat and crash...also splashes and chines are prety buyable...And these cymbals are so much more than zht...they are for right next to zildjian...much better than sabian. For example, I try David Garibaldy Sabian and it was great (much different than other sabian cymbals which I do not like so much) and it cost 450 euros. Then I try bosforus cymbal by my teacher which have the same finish as David Garibaldi's (traditional on down-side,and unfinished on upper side) and it sounds the same (if not better) and costs 200 euros.
I hope I was helpfull

i'd say for all of that if you're looking for decent cymbals you might want to save up alittle longer and just get something higher end. you don't need the best of the best but 500 probably wouldn't get you all that is on your list.

I've always liked the Paiste Alphas; I do subscribe to the "You get what you pay for" philosophy. The Wuhan chinas are great; I have a 22" that has lasted me 3 years with no signs of crackage. (having said that, it'll probably break this week) As far as crashes & hi-hats, I don't mind spending a little more for a Z Custom, given their lifespan. Always had good luck with those.

If it sound good then get it!
I say if it sounds good play it, I have a mix of Zildjians that i play live from A custom to shimitar (which used to be the entry level cymbals made by zildjian) I have also recorded on everything from Zildjian to Sabian and Paiste as well as no names.. Ive played a beer keg before! so as I say if you like the sound of it and the sounds serve the music your playing then get it

First off don't let anyone tell you your not serious about drumming because they don't like the cymbals. Great drummers make trash cans sound glorious. that being said A customs are amasing but fragile. AAX'S I think are the way to go on a budget. they sound great and there durable as hell. you may want to put together some more cash. I have A custom 18", 19" CRASHS, AAX 20" stage ride (great bell) 14" hhx hats, 18 titanium china, 9'zil-bell. and a splash or two. all together almost $2000 in cymbals. if you wanna start solid get hats, one crash and a ride. invest in those first then build around them.

Hey I bought an A custom Med. Crash this summer and i absolutlely love it, if your running on a low budget I recommend buying what you can now and save up for your complete set . You can get a set (crash, ride, hats) for a little over 600, and they're worth it.
