like when guitar hero came out a kid from my old school thought he could play guitar, bought one and never used it saying it was to hard
dumbass...
so do u think people are gunna brag at there "drumming" skills and just going strat the drums just to quit them
or maybe theyll be good idk what are your thoughts?

I always figured that if a kid sat down and practiced guitar everyday for the same amount of time they play guitar hero, they would be decent before long.
Alas, practicing an instrument is rewarding, but a lot of kids like the flashing lights and crazy noises.
Maybe if someone combined the old "Simon" game with a drumset, (I said it first, dammit, don't steal my idea! lol) more kids would get interested.
Still, I think it's really better if not everyone learns to play an instrument. Who wants to pay to see someone do what everyone in the audience can do too?

The problem with Guitar Hero is that it's nothing like playing a real guitar.

When people play guitar hero, I sometimes whip out the guitar and start playing (parts of) the songs they're "playing." It really pisses some people off.
Right... on topic.
I doubt that this'll bring out "poser" drummers. Drums rarely appear to be as glamorous as guitar (don't kill me for saying that), and it's hard to come by a cheap set that your parents will buy you because you think you'd be as good on real drums as the four pads Rock Band is gonna give you.

i think that people who are great at this new game will have the brains to realize that a video game is notihng like playing a drum kit.

 uhh...cool mayb?
umm...i guess it would b kinda cool...i mean..not everyone can bring their drumset in their and play fo hrs on without their neighbors calling the cops on them...im sure it wont b like a REAL drumset...but u still could improve some things...im sure they'll give u drumsticks(even if it plastic) and a pad...which you could use to improve SOME things...but not a whole..i say it would b pretty cool...but the first kid that comes up and says to me he's a drummer because he plays a drum video game...and cant even play a simple beat on kit...imma kill em...not fo me...but fo all the TRUE DRUMMERS who work their ASSES off to be as good as they are!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats funny. I'm sorry, but todays world and mainstream has gone completely down the shitter. First Paris Hilton thinks she's a singer/musician (Also Brooke Hogan and whatever other tv girl there is out there, jumping on the "I want to be a songwriter/musican" bandwagon) and now this?
It's kinda the same thing. Sure that's great, people are kind of getting into drums, but it's a video game, it's not gonna teach you what the real thing is like and it's gonna breed a trend for wannabe's. This game is not going to teach you what playing drums is really like.
Just like the military. Our troops are trained using simulation bullshit instead of live fire exercises and other things that the military and government sees as "not politically correct" or "unsafe" these days. Guess what, war is unsafe and hazardous and hazardous training is needed to prepare you for it. And because of this, the soldiers go out on the battlefield and they dont know what the fuck or how to react when there are real bullets flying past their head and grenades going off in front of their faces and their buddies getting hit or dying fighting for their country. It's because they've never been experienced in that shit and dont know what it's really like. They stopped the live fire exercises and shit because they had the dumbasses that freaked out and stood up in between the wire while the m-60 fired over thier heads.
I'm not trying to knock the troops or anything, I support em, got a close friend and cousin in the military, but just using this as an example to draw a comparison and express my point.
And this game is gonna bring on the trend even more and before you know it, people will be jumping on the bandwagon thinking they are drummers when they're really not and not meant to be. It's just another money making trend to suck people into.

rock band will, weather you like it or not, be like reading rolling sheet music for a four piece set. If you can play it on expert, you can go to a set and play that with some success (due to the fact that cymbals and stuff wont be on the same pads) but it will take the coordination of real drumming (at least basic drumming) at the highest difficulty level on the game. the game will rock, it'll be fun, i just beat guitar hero 2 on expert in one sitting (just got it for 360) and its amazing fun. if rock band brings that same type of fun to the drum attachment too, it'll make me happy.

They've got the japanese made DrumMania in arcades here...
It's a 5 pad set up with one bass drum(no pad.)
The five pads are, from left to right...
Hi Hat, Snare Drum, two rack toms, and a cymbal.
I know lots of people who are really good at this game.
They're so convinced they'll be really kick ass at playing actual drums.
Saw one of them sit down at a real set...
Didn't sit on it for longer than a minute.
In other terms, yeah, games in that formula could bring out posers.
