well Alchemy cymbals are great! I own a 20" ride and 14" hats. The hats are just my style of hats I always wanted to have, crisp, loud and undestroyable. and expensive.
I own a "raw" Istanbul Alchemy which cracked at several places, too bad that the main crack was caused by my bad posture and technic years ago. I talked to a drummer friend who told me that Istanbul does not have that accurate quality control than Paiste or Zildjian has. So there's a higher chance these cymbals crack. yup, mine did *sob*. If you play loud and heavy and hit hard and want a crashy ride feeling I'd say, don't buy Istanbul. And don't buy 'raw" cymbals which are not turned off on the upper side. These cymbals are so good that they sound fairly enough broken that I still use them.
