Post Medium Thin's
I'm pretty clueless about cymbal weights, so I just want to see what you guys think.

I'm looking at ordering two medium-thin cymbals from Saluda (17" MistX and a 19" Diamond [medium-thin dark]). Jamie suggested the medium thin weight, after I told him in my email that I didn't have much of an idea about weights, just that I didn't want anything to thick.

I've been playing for a little over 2 1/2 years. I'm pretty neurotic about my cymbals breaking, which is why I preferred thinner over thicker. Soundwise, I play mostly metal/rock.

Anyways, how typical are medium thins, and how do they compare to mediums or dark? Will they last me a long time?

medim thin cymbals are pretty common, and they will last just as long as anything else if played correctly. i play only medium thin crashes and have no problems with them, especially my aaxplosions. if jamie suggested it, its problably just what youre looking for.

thickness also plays a huge roll in sound properties, thinner cymbals have a darker shimmering sound to them while thicker cymbals are much brighter, i prefer mediums thins myself but have thins, mediums, and med/thin cymbals to cover most accents.
