Post Morgan Rose drum beat.
I've been wanting to expand my playing style and I think I'm going to study Morgan's playing from " Sevendust ". His patterns are very Syncopated and heavy grooved. I just spent the last 3 hrs mastering this beat and all the cool fills. Let me know what you think of this pattern.

Very cool man. I am a fan of Morgan Rose / Sevendust and use some variations of his grooves in my playing. I just don't dig the hair Laughing

I love Morgan's play style, one of my heavier drum influences.

I don't know where the 8th-notes on the crash became popular but its something that's never sat well with me, I was impressed with his feet and he had a nice rock groove, you could do a lot worse for an influence.

If I recall, that started somewhere in the thrash metal era and replaced the hi-hat in some songs because it was the only cymbal louder than the guitars.

Edit: Meant thrash not crash. Embarassed

Morgan Rose is good, I like him alot. He's real busy with the kick, and it locks right in with the guitars. He's got a real groove oriented style. You feel and hear the groove in his playing.
