I love the virgin bass drum shell. Great kit, and I bet it sounds as sweet as it looks.

Nice, i like it alot. I have an MX in emerald green fade. You're lucky, I'm stuck with fusion sizes so I can't get them to sound as low as I would like, but they are still nice kits.

i was so close to buying this kit... it looks wicked. couple of questions:
1. the double pedal... does the 24" size make it harder to kick fast? i would think the extra inches would make the rebound brutal.
2. i've heard really bad things about PDP hardware, how does it stand up? anything look flimsy?
3. have you tuned it totally and maybe looked at the bearing edges? a few people said the bearing edges were cut very sloppily and thats what kind of turned me off buying the kit.

let me know how you like em!

haha no problem
lets see
1.um honestly i havent had any issues, i will admitt when i first got this set it was some what of transition
mostly because i had to raise the beaters jsut a tad bit higher but no it wont slow the speed down, at least
it hasnt for me.
2. i havent had any issues with any hardware on the drums, the tom mount at times has come loose on me
at shows but it was due to the screw being stripped so when i replaced it the issue was gone.
my cymbal stands i have had some issues with mostly just getting loose so as i did with the tom mount i
either replaced the screw or the wing nut and the problem is fixed.
but as long as ive had this set which is about a year and a half now i havent had an major problems
just a little fix it here or there.
3. i heard the same thing about the edges. and i was a little worried about it myself
so when i bought this set at GC a close friend of mine was working so he let me go into a backroom
where i took the tom and bass shells and did the flashlight test and it passed with flying colors.
but when i bought it i wanted to be a hundred percent sure, and since my grandfather was a carpenter
and left all his tools at our house when he passed i took his bearing edge tool and measured it and it was a
perfect 45 degree on all shells.

i love this set, ive played many over the years from pearl to tama to yamaha
dont get me wrong thouse were great sets, but this has been by far my favorite
the bass is huge which was a big factor to me because im a big bass fan the lower the better
the toms are the same was for being so shallow they can go so low.
and it def stands its ground in the studio to. it just sounds so fantastic
when miced up.

i plan on keeping this set till i die or it dies in which case ill buy a new one Laughing

haha but i hope this helps you man.
if you have any more questions please ask

Thanks a lot, that's really helpful. I love the black one with both high toms, yum. Don't you have a second floor? I thought the MXR came with both.

haha yes i do have the 14x12 floor tom but i never could find a use for it
so instead im in the process of making it into a 14x12 snare drum with legs
i have a friend whos knows his way around a tool shed so hes helping me drill
and put in the strainers and beds so it should be interesting.

haha for sure. which im extremly excited about because im a huge fan for that low deep wet snare sound for some reason
i doubt it will fit in my fast pace harcore music at all but it might come in handy one day in the studio
or at least in my church if not itll still be a fun drum just to have to play around with here at home.
