new beater for my bass drum
I went to Daddy's junky yesturday and found a nice new beater for my set. Its gibralter and was 30 bucks...just a head and a shaft....is this expensice? It was half felt, rubbery type and then solid on the other side...
looked like this a bit: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibraltar-Self-Aligning-Beater?sku=446513
but the back side was not usable for the head and it was not self adjusting. Same colors though!
Thanks, James

i think the one you linked would be more worth it
especially since MF are offering it for under $20

I agree. So, I think I am leaning more towards the DW double pedal they offer for 100 bucks! I always wanted one and my student is a big fan so he would come over and benefit from it as well.
I guess, a good deal can be found when you look. I cant believe I didnt see it before...MF is cheaper...I could have answered my own question.
Thanks.

ok...I decided to just decide and get the double pedal...
which one is a better pedal?
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Pacific-Drums-by-DW-DP402-Double-Bass-Drum-Pedal?sku=440460
or
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Pulse-Double-Bass-Drum-Pedal?sku=445489
DW is the first one and pulse is the second. I cant pass up a good deal on this. either one is the same price, and I am interested in learning how to use a double pedal. Im on my way! thanks for the help!

Oh yeah, the pulse has double chain on it...the ad for the pulse lists a lot more options than the DW...but Il listen to the voices...thanks again.

it's not a dw, it's a pdp. and neither is very good. i had the pdp and it's ok to learn on but it's not great. the price of each reflects quality.

yes pacific drums & percussion (pdp) is a branch off company of (but theyre still owned and operated by) DW
and in most cases price reflects quality, except when it comes to Saluda's
