 New Iron Cobras
Just got a new set of Iron Cobras after playing on a set of DW 5000s for a couple of weeks. It took playing the DWs for me to realize how much I really prefer the ICs. Don't know if it's the weight of them, the spring tension or the combination of all the settings, but they just feel like extensions of my feet when I play them.
I tried out a set of Axis with the long boards on them, DW 9000s, Yamahas and Pearl Eliminators as well and settled on the ICs.
That being said, the DW9000 was pretty sweet. Very smooth and nice response. I'm not sure what cam they had attached to it, but it came a close second to my Iron Cobras, and felt nothing like the DW5000s I had been playing.
Anyways, new Iron Cobra Power Glides make me a very happy drummer. I've already played a 3 hour show with them and they felt so good that I practiced for about an hour with them this afternoon.
Just thought I'd share.

one of my favorite things about the cobras? couple of months from now, a year or two, a decade, you will still love them. my drum teacher toured with his power glide and twenty years later it still feels as good as my year-old Powerglides. these things are basically made of adamantium.

IRON COBRA IS THE BEST!! hehehe... I love my rolling glide! Just feel nice and but it is a bit heavy when you want to bring them somewhere though. The carrying case is not bad too!

i just recently upgraded from a 4002 to IC's and i love it. its wayyy more responsive, and i spent about 40 minuts just messing with the settings initially to get a good feel for what i like. (dw 4002 doesnt let u adjust anyyything besides spring tension, and I'm not kidding about that.) theres also a really good response on the slave pedal compared to other doubles I've played.

I love my IC's. I played a hour and a half show and after the first hour i couldnt feel the pedal anymore. Needless to say that was the first time it happened and it freaked me out.

I've had my IC's for about 10 years now. Absolutely love them. Anyone else have trouble with the locknuts on the slave pedal connecting bar stripping out the threads? I went through 3 rods, thought it was just me cranking them down too tight, but I was really careful by rod #3. Ended up replacing it with a Pearl one that's way beefier than the Tama one. That's the ONLY Pearl item I own though, haha.
