 New Solo, check it out.
Hello everyone,
First and foremost I just have to tell EVERYONE, my wife and I are expecting our 3rd child in December:dancing:. The names we have chosen are Zoe Jane for the girl and Keean Mathew for the boy, we find out later today for sure.
I recorded this this morning, I am ONLY using my kick mic, snare mic and two overheads, no effects have been added, I have tunes my toms very similar to Neil Pearts(and I love the sound they are producing), my snare drums I am using in this is my new 6.5"x 14" Sonic all maple 8 ply shell, comes with diecast hoops, I just love the sound of this snare, I also set my drums up Identical to Gavin Harrisons, cymbals and all, and actually it feels very natural and comfortable.
Anyway guys/gals let me know what you think, perticulary on the sound, not nessesarly on the playing, I really think I have a great sound now, thanks.

If the link does not work, just go to my website and listen to it on my new player, and while you are there have a listen to some of my old band stompbox stuff I played drums on.

interesting.. a cultural remark:
Around the people I know (probably whole Germany) no name of a baby is told to anybody before birth. That's bad luck You know: "oh your pregnant, oh a boy, how nice, you have a name, good, nono don't tell me yet .. "
Kids are always good. I wish I had that opportunity.
The sound is AMAZING. I really dig it. You should watch your levels a bit, the kick goes over sometimes. The overhead is ok for drum solo but in a music mix I would turn them down a bit.

Be extra careful coming out of your fills. You are tending to come out either a half-beat before or after the actual downbeat, and throws off the rhythm.
You tend to slightly rush driving patterns, like the constant bass drum around 1:40 of the solo.
Nice tom rhythms.
Keep rhythms constant. Don't let the tempo start to wave.
Nice touch using the off-snare sound, brings a whole new dimension to playing.
The fill at 9:30 was not there, needs too be cleaner.
Overall, there are some tempo issues when coming out of fills and extended fill sections. Also, when the groove is driving, it tends to start driving away. Just remember to keep the tempo in check, and it'll be good as butter.

I love the snare and kick...jeeez they sound great..Nice cymbals too..I can tell the toms are there but for me I like alot more hang/ring on toms, but they sound nice and in tune...It would be nice to sample that snare..It's sweet..I can't tell cuz I don't see so well but what heads were those ? Yeah nice sound I must say !!
