I'm in the market for a new ride, and I think I've narrowed it down to three Zildjian models: 22" A Ping Ride, 21" A Sweet Ride, or a 20" A Custom Projection Ride. I currently use a 20" A Medium ride but it crashes too easily and I need something with better definition but still has a nice wash and good overtones. I have recorded with a 22" ping and it has a good sound and I've heard the Sweet ride played in a store and really liked the tone. I'm just worried it will lack definition like my current ride because of it's medium thickness. I like the Projection ride too, but I don't want too heavy of a sound, and I'm worried it will be too harsh. I also use two Sabian AAX dark crashes, so which do you think will blend the best with them?

Does anyone own any of these or have a favorite?

The A-custom Sweetride is the best ride that I have ever played in over 20 yaers. Great warm sound, wash and bell. Peace on ya!

I've always loved the a good ping ride and the 22" A Ping is awesome. For all around purpose though I would go with the Sweet Ride.
