Post Newest Music Acquisition
There have been a lot oft topics with the question what style of music one is listening to or is playing.
That a little general I think so why not a little thread with new CD acquisitions, one can see names not only "rock" or "metal" or "jazz" ... We all agree there's a lot of Rock or Metal or Jazz or "<putinyourfavouritestyle>".
So here's my little corner of music I like to listen to and like to spend money for.

What's yours?

So last order was (a big one this time)

1. This Will Destroy You ( the last 2 albums: 2006 "Young Mountain" and 2007 "self titled")
Postrock, one can argue about it, but these guys (from Texas) do it the right way, I like it a lot.

2. The Ocean ( 2007 Precambrian )
If you are into Neurosis this is a mustbuy. A band from Berlin.

3. Dillinger Escape Plan ( Ire works )
Hmm I still have not made my mind up if I like songs like 'black bubblegum'. But I think I do. My colleagues often look quite disturbed when I sit at my desk banging.

4. Exodus ( 2007 The Atrocity Exhibition )
No comment needed. Is there a Thrash Metal Renaissance? Ever heard of Warbringer or Municipal Waste ? Twisted Evil

5. Baroness ( 2007 Red Album )
I like this very much. I can't wait for the new Mastodon.

have a nice weekend, I have a gig, if you have one, enjoy it. Very Happy
trstn

my latest cd purchase was bleed the fifth by divine heresy. sweet DB work and pretty well thought out drum parts that sync with the guitars, the best example of that is the song "impossible is nothing"

Gonna by the new North Missippi Allstars and The Drive By truckers disc as soon as I get to the record store. I'll throw a listen at the black crowes while I'm there.

I'm not just a blues rock dude. I recently downloaded that Good times Bad Times Godsmack cover. Wait that's Zep. Blues Rock Now. Heavy Metal Then.

Bought the new Mars Volta cd a few days ago.
Amazing. Thomas Pridgen is so good.
Didn't buy it, but my friend let me borrow The Point of Know Return by Kansas.
It's pretty amazing too.

So I guess I mostly spend my money on classic rock or alternative. Mostly stuff
with good drummers.
