Post No series Zildjian Ride?
I have a 22" Zildjian medium ride, I got for Christmas. It was new (i was told) and had no marks. It doesnt have a series on it, doesnt have a serial number, and doesn't say Avedis above Zildjian. Is there any way to find out what series it is; and is it just an old cymbal that never was used?

it might be a prototype. some cymbal brands release shop prototypes to stores for a few weeks at a time.

It was bought from a family friend's store, he just sells things that people sell to him. He said that he has had it for about 2 years just lying around. I love the sound of the bell.

yeah. in my high school jazz band we had an older looking 22" Zildjian ride. great bell sound and very low-pitched and dark.

I just called it Goliath.

He said it was new when he got it. Not new, but never been used ( i doubt he would lie) And there wasn't a single mark on it or any fading on the words.
I wont be able to get a pic until tomorrow.

could be a boot-leg. Lots of things that get boot-legged are missing fine details (like the Avedis logo) and don't have serial numbers

My guitarists dad has a vintage kit with a very old 20 inch medium, all it has is the engraving of Avedis Zildjian co. on it's bottom. it's either pretty old just cleaned up, or like most of the people on here say it could be a prototype. i wouldnt doubt it.
