Yo...They sell gretsch shell packs on Ebay for like anywhere between $299-$3000. I suggest looking into building yourself a kit. Its very rewarding.
Other than that, I don't know much about gretsch kits. I always thought the Premier Cabria jazz kits were nice. Look into that.
Anyways, I'll let someone that knows a bit more give you advice. Razz

what dont you like about the kit you got? i've heard and played pretty many of these kits and they sound huge and boomin. great sounding drums for the money.

the jazz series with the small kick is a great kit also if you're not looking for huge boomy low sounding drums. i can be quite happy with a high pictched punchy kicky drum so i personally like them. but if you're a fan of lower boomy drums you will not tlike the jazz kit.

I am wondering what type of sound you wanted out of the set... if you wanted the sound for like a rock/metal band or whatever... a jazz set is not the way to go! LOL Razz

Gretsch... I hardly know anything about them other than the fact they make a lot of really good sounding drumsets for lower prices than average.... and every Gretsch set I've hit at all, (a few) sounded pretty neat to me! Smile So.... tell us what sound you want and we'll give you some suggestions!
