If they aren't the same thing, I'm gonna guess the difference is that a gravity blast makes contact with the rim, and a one handed roll does not. But I think they are the same thing.

If they were different, I would of thought it would be the other way round to that because i do my one handed rolls on the rim.

no man, that's a gravity blast..
a true one handed roll is a "push-pull" technique

there are many ways to do a one handed roll.
he freehand technique is one of them
when you do a one handed roll using the freehand techiqe, its often refered to as a gravity blast

anything that involves anything other than the hand. aka rim, shoe lace, foot, nose, friend's hamster ect. is not a true one handed role it is a way to imitate a one handed role. push pull is one technique but there are several others. gravity blast from what i hear is an imitation technique.

Well the main thing that makes any blast a blast is really syncopated kick along with the snare strokes. Mainly the term gravity blast is used when the kick is being hit at the same time each hit of a snare is being done when using a rim type one handed roll. Doing the same when using a push pull technique is generally called a hyper blast. Yeah the terminology gets a be awkward but hey, eff it.

Your reading into it too much. like the "one handed roll" is this certain technique. all a one handed roll is is rolling with one hand. you can use push pull, freehand, or whatever else you want. its still a one handed roll

accualy your standard single bass blast beat has your right foot hitting with your right hand. which wuold be on you hats or ride. snare hits all by itself

I'm weird. when I do single bass blast beats, I'll mix it up. sometimes, I'll play right hand ride or hihat, in which case the bass follows the right hand. if my right hand is on the snare drum and left hand on the hihat, the kick follows the left hand. in both cases I'm playing right hand lead, so the beat structure is determined by which hand is on what most of the time. sometimes I'll do more sparse accent patterns with the foot. if I'm doing double bass blast beats (which I'm not even sure if I'm capable of anymore, haven't played double bass in about 7 or 8 years), the feet are playing the same speed as the hands if not accenting, and I switch between right and left lead with the feet and hands. feet and hands are always consistent as to which side leads with double bass, it gets a little confusing otherwise. I really need to find a grindcore band to jam with. all the people I used to play with have either moved, stopped playing aggressive music, gone to prison, gone in the army, etc. otherwise I might never get back to the level I used to be with double bass.

Can anyone PLEASE tell me what the OFFICIAL names of the other blast beat styles...
Theres two in this video, the first is in the very beginning, when the snare and kick are on the same marks, then the other one is at 00:30 when the kick is doing double time....
Then in the NEXT video, theres the style where its all...I cant explain...its in the beginning...

There's no real "official" names, playing everything on together on top of 16th dbl bass like in the Divine Heresy video is referred to “cannibal blasts” sometimes because Paul Mazurkivicz uses it a lot. The rest are just regular blast beats, but in the Black Dahlia video he leads on the snare sometimes
