Online Lessons With Mike Johnston.
Here's something you guys might want to check out. I'm most likely going to.
He gives the break-down at the end of the video, but it's basically $20USD a month with live video lessons every Monday and Wednesday. You can sign up at http://www.MikesLessons.com.

This is very cool. I asked my wife if I could do this, because I've been wanting lessons for a long time, and she, without hesitation, said I could. I was surprised, I said, "really?" Ha, she says now she's the coolest with ever, which I already knew, but this is gonna be awesome.
I'll most likely be watching the last lessons of each day which will be 9pm Central Time.
BTW, that was some pretty slick groovin. I think it's cool how he states that he doesn't have the fastest hands, but he still made it sound awesome. He seems like a real awesome guy, I can't wait for this to start next week.

No problem. That's awesome that your wife was so instantly supportive.
I support Mike for two reasons, well three really. He's an outstanding player who's very humble about his talents and because he is a really cool guy. Not to mention, the man's building an empire for himself and ya' just gotta respect that.

I'll be signing up for it too. I've used a lot of his stuff that I learned from Youtube. Just a awesome player and to see some of the videos in GC with some of his students, you can tell he really cares.

Wow. This seems like a really good idea. Plus I've always been a big fan of Mikes. I'm sure he mentioned this but, what if you miss the lessons? Are they recorded so you can watch them later?

That's a good question, Cableman. I can only assume that his solution to that is doing it three times a day.

Word. The way my work schedule's been it's hard to know when I'm going to be home. I'm still thinking about doing it though. How bout you Garrett, made your mind up yet?

I haven't signed up yet because pay day is on the 10th, but I've had a few mini-lessons with Mike before. He's a great teacher and you will learn from him. It's well worth the $20 because he charges $100 a month for four half hour lessons.

Yeah, I'd easily pay $100 a month to have one on one lessons with the guy. But I know I'll learn a lot from him. I think the first lesson was great. Wednesday he's going to be teaching the carasca, so I'm super hyped about that. I think the most difficult thing about lessons like this is that there's no quality control. If I've got bad technique, well, there's no one around to save me. But I think I play with pretty good technique so hopefully I won't have that problem, but I know someone out there will have that problem and probably won't even know it. But what can ya do?!
See how he changed up the order between the kik and foot HH during the groove solo? Ok so by maintaining the hand pattern rrl practice the feet order from those first pages of stick control. Or maybe if you don't have that kind of material at hand just play Paradiddle inversions. Cool little lick!
