I play Tama drums and love them though there are alot of great sounding kits out there. I guess it comes down to personal preference and how much money you have to spend on a kit. As for your poll, I go with Tama for the great tone and punch that I get from them and the durability. Peace.

Ive found that what really makes a drum set sound good is the player and proper tuning, which is why ill never spend more than $1000 on a drum set, but ill spend a lot on heads, cymbals and stuff like that that. I use a rockwood set, i cant remember how much it was, probly like $380 for a five piece, and its pretty nice.

Never heard of Rockwood. Where are they made and how do they sound?

Well yeah I go with my Trick anyday
A second Kit would be a small Ludwig set with a 24" kick, when I'm rich and famous
My first kit was a Pearl Forum.

Ive been playing yamahas from day 1. I have done countless sessions sat behind a yamaha kit of one sort or another and nothing sounds better to be honest (and yes, I have used everything from 60s ludwigs to carbon fibre Gary Noonan kits in the studio) plus the finishes are always superb. My maple kit that i got 2 weeks ago is glorious. So yeah, yamaha - after all, Steve Gadd uses them and he is incredible, and knows what hes talking about.

Like Adamski, I'm a Yamahead. I've been playing Yamaha drums a long time now, and even run a group on Yahoo to support folks that play them with ideas and information that comes from the factory. I have a great respect for all other drum manufacturers, and will never say anything bad about them, but for me, Yamaha is my voice.

i make my own drum sets.
i got sick of spending upwards of two or three thousand dollars for a kit i could make on my own for less than a grand.

Add one for Tama! I have been playing Tama since day 1 and I don't think I'd ever switch unless they got bought out and their stuff was no longer made..... my second choice would easily go to Premier.

I see, dare I say, some of the worst English and grammar usage in these forums!
