 opinions wanted
Here's the scoop.... I'm in the middle of switching from Paiste to Sabian. I've heard almost all of the samples on their site and have some ideas of my own, but those are internet samples. I'm looking for opinions from hands-on experience. I'm looking for the pro-level series. I play death metal and am still shopping for the following:
8" splash
13" hi hat
17" crash (need something on the brighter side for a 3-crash rotation - AA or AAX, as I already have an HHX, an AAX dark crash and AAX o-zone crash)
12"-14" china (already have a 14" Evolution mini china, looking for a second mini)
17"-19" china
20"-22" ride
Thank you one and all for your thoughts

Like, B8Pro or just professional grade cymbals?
That isn't really much to work with so I'll just give you what I'd pick out for myself.
8" Evolution splash
13" HHX Stage Hats
17" AAX Metal Crash
14" AAX China
18" Wuhan China
22" AAX Metal Ride

It's funny, I had initially typed "no B8 Pro's...." but didn't want to make it sound like I'm bashing them so I revised it. That said, yes, I'm looking for strictly pro-level (HHX/HH, AAX/AA & Vault or signature series) cymbals. Thanks for the input.

why limit yourself to just sabian im sure if you tried other brands and mixed you would find a better sound overall , but i have a sugestion for a 20" ride seeing as your playing metal im guessing you want you sticking heard? if so go id say go for an a custom projection along the lines of sabian idk maybe an aa rock ride there pretty close to the projection ride just not as good of a bell

Ain't gonna lie, I'm a bit OCD when it comes to my gear being brand-matched. With as many different models as Sabian has, I'd better be able to find a great overall sound with strictly their stuff. I get your point though, and I will be hanging on to most of my old Paistes to keep things fresh by changing things up on occassion - or if something breaks... thanks for the input.

i got a 20'' HH Sabian China and its amazing. very powerful and loud. and the Vault crashes are pretty good as well, they remind me of Zildjian's A Customs. HHX splashs are also great, but very thin so honestly i wouldn't recommend it if you hit hard at all or ever ride the splash.
