My school has a 20" paiste 404 ride thats starting to keyhole and crack in the middle. But I was just wondering if this cymbal is worth anything? I can't seem to find any on ebay or google.

I bought one from somone selling it here on the forums. I don't know how much it's worth cause the guy selling it here had picked up a bunch of "damaged" (although there was hardly any real damage on it when i got it) paiste cymbals and I bought the 404 for $25 including shipping I believe, but I like it, it has a bit of a dark sound to it.

I love mine, but I don't think they have much value. If it's keyholed and cracked, it aint worth crap

I believe the 404 line was their budget line back in the 80's. When I do see them on E-Bay, they usually go relatively cheap. If the ride you are talking about in keyholed and cracked, it's not worth much at all. Any ride in that shape will not be worth a ton of $.

That being said, I still have a pair of 404 hi-hats from when I first started playing drums. They sound pretty good, and served me well for years. Regardless of whether or not they are expensive or cheap, if they sound good....that's all that matters.
