Yeah they are some good set for the cash. They sound pretty damn good. My good friend has the one in black with red hardware. The white is very striking color. I dig it. The snare is meh, but it isn't horrible. I'd say sure, go for it. If you like it then yeah.

If you got a good snare than this set is great. Yeah that is what I do. Use my crap ass basix snare for practice and then get out my good phattie when I'm in the studio or onstage.

Modern Drummer had a review for the PDP 805's. It sounded like they really liked them.

how can you say the snare sucks? Pacific originally came out with the 805 series snares. they were so popular and good they were inspired to make a whole set. I have played the snare and it sounded amazing to me. i would give the Pacific 805 series a 9.5 out of 10.
great set
GREAT price
end of story

One thing you have to realize though, is no matter what the product is, Modern Drummer will always give it a good review.

Thats a big bass drum. Can you imagine playing toms mounted onto that beast? I don't think I'd reach. But it looks good, if seen many good reviews on the internet for that kit and it looks sick too.
The red and black looks just like Ddrum Diablos.

The rims, which im guessing are powdercoated. Ive always wondered how they hold up to being hit by sticks over and over again. Does it come off or chip away? Me thinking that shyed me away from alot of choices for my first set.
