They're both great kits. Who's hardware do you like more? How about color options? Is there a deal going on for either kit?

i picked Pearl Exports, but if I could go back in time, i'd probably go with Tama Superstars. A bit more cash, but a jump in quality, for sure.

Well I'd say tama imperialstars cause I am pretty sure they are coming with Meinl cymbals now. That is a good plan. I prefer tama in general anyways. Pearl Exports are great to but they don't come with dem meinls.

Get what you like then. Most of the replies you'll get here, as I'm sure you notice, are going to be geared towards personal preference. "I play Brand-X so you should to!"

Pretty much every entry level drum from a major manufacturer will be a good deal. I've tried all kinds of brands, Pearls, Tamas, Ludwigs, Sonors, and Ddrums, and wound up choosing Yamahas, which I've been playing for a couple decades now. Just make sure to compare and contrast features on each kit, try to get a chance to play each kit, and make an informed decision on what works best for you. And congrats in advance!
