I have an elx kit, with the iss mounts. There are pros and cons. Pros-with pearl's system you can pu the drum damn near anywhere, there are short and long arms available and if you use a gibralter rack, the adjustments are infinate. The cons - if your 16 mounted tom is on iss, and you grab it because something is loose an it slipps down, you can pull it right off the iss mount. Trust me on this. The iss clamps on the rim will actually crush the rim down a very small amount, at which point you need to remove the iss claw and grind the plating off the mating area so as to clamp the rim tighter. I'm thinking this is just a slight manufaturing issue, perhaps the plating is thicker than the designer thought, once done the mounts hold tight without issue. also if you want to change your head, you need to take the drum off the kit, because when you take the rim off, there's nothing connected to the shell. Wow, I think I made the kit sound like a pain in the ass huh? Hmm, I really do like mine.
