Rare Vintage Duplex Snare Drum NOW ON EBAY
Hi All, Just to give all you vintage drum enthusiasts a heads up i will be posting my vintage, rare Duplex Snare Drum on ebay within the week begining the 23rd, Feb 09. Briefly it's a 15" x 4" (approx) aluminium shell with wood hoops finnished with a rosewood overlay dating from around 1900-01. The history and detailed condition of this drum will be listed at the auction. There will be plenty of pictures and information available. I will post a link here as soon as it goes up. Hopefully see you there

Re: Rare Vintage Duplex Snare Drum For Sale
Starting price isn't as important as the closing price. Plus this clown just posted here to sell his stuff.

Oh definately, if I was in the market for a new snare, or a new anything for that matter, I'd be going after this. I'm thinking about going from small deep snare back to a more standard size. I just can't get a good crack out of a 13"x6.5"

Re: Rare Vintage Duplex Snare Drum For Sale
Hi guys,
yeah thanks it is a great drum, not bad for being over 100 years old. It sounds so old school it's great. The new clafskin head could do with a bit of playing in to loosen it up but once it does it will be so warm and rich sounding.
The starting price will be around £140 ($203) which is nothing for this piece of drum history, the rest is up to you guys.
Oh and buy the way kplante069 your completely, totally, 100% right........i did only post on here to sell my stuff which makes sence as its a drum forum last time i checked. see, thing is i actually have a life which is busy enough paying drums for a living, not spending it hanging around on forums taking cheap shots at other posters. When the auction ends i'll be off on tour and someone will be very happy with their new snare drum.
