 Practicing against a wall
If you can't get to a drum kit, or its really late, is it still helpful to stick a pillow against a wall and practice your foot technique that way?
I've started doing this a fair amount, as my kit has been taken apart temporarily. I'm just wondering if its a futile attempt, or it is actually doing me good?
Any other practice tips for when you cant really practice? Except the given practice pad/mouse pad ways

I had a music teacher once, (I used to take trumpet lessons) and he said ANY kind of practice is good practice if done right. If you see an improvement, then it's definately working! I kinda just "air drum" when it's late.

^ i'm addicted to desk drumming, it can easily drive everyone in class mad when i'm being all Danny Carrey-esque and get a little over board

Haha, I've got the same problem. I go around in any store, or wherever. Grocery shopping, etc., and I Air Drum to whatever song is stuck in my head, haha. Everyone looks at me funny, but I actually met a pretty cool drummer doing that once. He saw me air drumming and just struck up a conversation with me, haha.
Air drumming is the shit.

I keep a pair of sticks in my truck, and bash the shit outta my steering wheel. I practice gravity blasts on my dashboard, its got a perfect fulcrum, and it sounds badass.

haha yeah in the times where I had a car (don't need a own car anymore thanks to carsharing) I had sticks in it all the time and used them on multiple parts on every traffic light. I recommend that .. and pscht .. long drives are a good oportunity to practice finger technic .. please only one hand ..
